Stephen Colbert breaks down 'Star Wars' plot for non-fans

Are you one of the three people out there who hasn't seen Star Wars? Do you have a dislike for films about stars or wars? Were you born and raised in '70s China?

Then Stephen Colbert's got your back

"Apparently the franchise never got popular in China because the original Star Wars movie came out in 1977, back when Western media was suppressed in China," Colbert told his audience Friday. "For the less-informed Chinese viewers out there, let me catch you up real quick."

What followed was an unpretentious, uncomplicated story about a farm boy and his robots getting revenge on his dad

Not so difficult to follow now, is it?

Donald Trump's 'SNL' monologue is short, sweet and self-aware

Donald Trump kept it short, sweet and in triplicate.

Trump's monologue on Saturday Night Live didn't linger, and it didn't shy away from the controversy surrounding the presumptive GOP front-runner. And it featured not one, but two of the show's Trump impersonators.

"People think I'm controversial, but the truth is, I'm a nice guy," he said. "I don't hold grudges against anybody. Like Rosie O'Donnell. She said some things that were hurtful and untrue. I said some things about her that were mean, and completely accurate." Read more...

Doctor Who Episode 8 Review: The truth of consequences

Doctor Who Season 9 Episode 8: "The Zygon Inversion"

Grade: B+

For all the wars throughout human history, very few have been described accurately to the participants in advance. First World War generals marched into the fields of Flanders and France confident it would all be over by Christmas. Lyndon Johnson had no idea how much blood and treasure Vietnam had cost him, while the second Bush administration infamously assumed the people of Iraq would treat U.S. troops as liberators.

So it is particularly poignant that the Doctor manages to head off a similarly costly conflict in The Zygon Inversion, simply by making its full scope clear to the warmongering Zygon Bonnie, who has assumed the shape of Clara Oswald. And that full scope involves looking in the mirror. Read more...
